Hi, and welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I am Mrs. Watson, your child's English teacher this year.  Here is just a little bit about myself.

I grew up and graduated from high school in Henderson, Kentucky.  I then attended the University of Kentucky, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in English Education.  I got my first teaching job in Waltonville, Illinois, where I taught high school for six years.  While teaching there, I attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and earned a Master's Degree in Higher Education and Administration. I furthered my education at SIUC in Curriculum and Instruction.

I have been married for 30 years this September. My husband and I have two grown daughters and one grandson. We also have a dog named Coco Chanel.  She is a Shih Tzu Pekingese mix.

This will be my 33rd year of teaching, and it is also my retirement year!  When I am not teaching, I like reading, playing tennis, swimming, and spending time with my family and my dog.

I am excited about starting the new school year.  Parents, my goal is to give your child the best education possible, and if I can be of any assistance to you, please feel free to contact me. I hope that everyone has a wonderful school year!

    Helpful tips for parents:

          StudySync

    StudySync Online Textbook

*Homework assignments are posted in Google Classroom AND in StudySync. Students have to hit SUBMIT in StudySync for their work to be recorded.  THEN, they should mark the assignment as "Done" in Google Classroom.

*For Google Docs and Google Slides, students have to hit "turn in" in Google Classroom.

*For Google Forms, students have to hit "SUBMIT" on the Google Form for it to be turned in; NOT just marked in Google Classroom.
