My name is Wendy, and this is my FIRST year teaching at LIncoln Elementary! For the past 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching first graders at Longfellow Elementary School. Throughout these wonderful years, I found that I have a true passion for teaching reading. It is amazing to witness firsthand students applying what they have learned and begin to read on their own. Seeing students blossom into independent readers has helped fuel my recent master’s degree work and knowing this skill will be such an integral part of their future, inspired me to become a reading specialist. I’m enthusiastic about having the opportunity to zoom in on what I love most about teaching and use my skills to help the students at Lincoln Elementary School become the best readers they can possibly be!
My husband, Bryan, and I have three children. Our son, Eli, is 15 and swims competitively year-round and enjoys playing saxophone in the MHS band. Lela Kate is 13 and loves to tumble, dance, and play percussion in the MJHS band. Our youngest son, Chapman, enjoys rec league baseball, swims competitively, and has just begun playing the saxophone. When we’re not at a practice, game, or competition…we like to watch movies, play games, and take day trips to places like the zoo and presidential museums.
