Dear Longfellow Students and Families,
Greetings! My name is Lindsay Watts and it is my honor and privildege to be the principal of Longfellow School. This is my third year at Longfellow, and while this year is different, it has still been great!
I am proud of our students, teachers and staff and I cannot begin to thank everyone for their patience, dedication and hard work to make this year a success despite all of the difficulties.
We are a “team” at Longfellow and are committed to supporting and enriching our students’ academic, social, and behavioral growth. I see parents as important team members and welcome you to take on an active role in your child’s education and in our school community. Let’s continue to work together to ensure your child feels safe and is excited and eager to learn!
I feel that strong relationships are important in the success of a school. My ultimate goal as principal is to engage all students, families and staff members. As the old saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child” and as a mother and educator I know this to be true. To develop and foster those relationships, I value my opportunities to spend time with your child, getting to know their personalities and interests. We always celebrate success and learn to work even harder when we experience failure. Together, we will continue to grow and learn a lot!
If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to visit, call (618-993-3230) or email me at lwatts@marionunit2.org. I welcome and value your input.
Sincerely,
Lindsay Watts
Principal, Longfellow Elementary School
