My name is Heather Stepter.  I have lived in Marion my entire life.  This is my 13th year as a Reading Specialist at Washington School.  I finished my degree at SIUC in 2006.  After graduation, I returned to Southern Illinois University Carbondale and obtained my Master's degree in Reading and Language.

I truly enjoy my job as a Reading Specialist and enjoy seeing my students grow and develop as readers.  It is amazing to see the progress they make from September to May, each gain is an accomplishment.  I love being a part of the Washington School team!
